For clarification, 48 hours of video is uploaded to youtube every second, think about it. The Web is the future and no one can predict where it will go so just hold on for the ride and give me that Google Brain implant.

Did you know is a bit old and Needs to be updated
So for our technology in education class we were charged with watching a video about the growing influence of the internet and the online world. Just to show you how fast this sector is growing, this video is already outdated. The mere fact that it even mentions myspace.com next to Facebook shows how old it really is. The number of web PAGES is up to around 20 trillion now but websites (the specific IP address) is at around 300 Million. While many of the statistics made no sense, "Newspaper circulation is down 7 million over the last 25 years", 7 million what? I think this still gets its point across that the world is a new place and is rapidly changing.

This comes across a bit harsh. I enjoyed the video I just wanted to point out how much things have changed in a short time
ReplyDeleteI think your criticism is justified: the video is rather outdated. But it just goes to show how technology is changing so rapidly!
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing when I saw myspace in comparison to facebook...but then again, isn't myspace widely used by artists/music sector? I feel like there is still a large number of people using it...so after all, there may be validity in comparing it to facebook. But I am just guessing; not sure where myspace stands as of now.
I too think your criticism is justified. I had noticed the video was from 2006, but didn't think of what that meant in terms of accuracy of the facts presented.
ReplyDeleteI think this just shows how what we view on the internet cannot always be taken as truth. Had you guys not brought it to my attention I wouldn't have taken time to consider how things have evolved since this was posted, and would have taken what I saw as current truths. Thanks!
