You need to Lock Down Your Facebook

I don't want tot go into who, but there are plenty of people who have not set up their Facebook Privacy Settings.  Our Students know Facebook like we knew how to ride bikes and as teachers we must be on top of this.  This video is a start but I plan to use every chance I get to educate you on how our students do and will use Social Media.
After uploading this video I feel I should have used a non locked down Facebook page.  Oh well I hope this helped you get a jump on Facebook and privacy.  I should mention that nothing is perfect and we are just one update away from Facebook reseting the privacy settings and all of your information being available so you really should not be putting anything up on the internet that you do not expect to go public.  I know I sound like a crazy shotgun wielding conspiracy theorist but it has happened before to Facebook.

  1. :) I always get frustrated when I see that I can browse through non-friends' pictures, or even have complete access to their wall! As if it wasn't enough that a couple hundred of their "friends" can see all of that. With or without realizing it, people are sharing everything!

Very good instructional video -- I hope people actually use it!
